About Me
I’m currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Mary Washington.
I spent 12-13 years in industry before coming to academia - my most recent role was as a Program Manager for the Department of Defense, overseeing a variety of (mostly) software projects. Before that, I spent time working as a:
- Test & Evaluation Engineer
- Scientist focusing on concept studies
- Researcher concerned with scalable and fault tolerant methods
- Systems engineer trying to coordinate a large number of subsystems and various moving parts
- Software engineer helping to build space systems for the future
I feel passionate about trying to optimize the use of computational resources and the abilities of the people using them. My research is related to a desire to help improve the algorithms commonly used in High Performance Computing which started after getting involved with parallel computation of large scale simulations while working in industry.
